Remain Here
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me." John 15:4 NLT
The demands of life are constantly tugging for our attention. Most of us are running from work to go home, finish dinner, and do the laundry, only to end up exhausted with little to no time for anything. It is likely that we are also treating God in this way. We read one chapter, say a short prayer, and then off we go to the next task.
When the Lord tells us to seek Him, He is asking for us to be a little more intentional about pondering and meditating on Him and His goodness. His word strengthens us when we feel depleted. Remaining in Him isn’t just going to church that one Sunday or saying a prayer here and there; although this is a form of remaining in Him, He wants more time with you. In this time you give Him, He will replenish you, strengthen you, heal you, and provide peace from all the demands. Only in this way will you be able to live your best life and produce the fruits you so desperately are craving to see! The blessings are in those still moments we spend making Jesus a part of our day all throughout.
~ Father God, thank You for your patience. Without You I can do nothing. When life tries to distract me, please keep me in You. give me the grace to hunger and thirst every day for Your presence so that I may produce the good fruits. In the name of Jesus Amen.
