On Guard
"Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge." 1 Timothy 6:20 NLT
Throughout the Bible we come across situations where the children of God use their words only to complain and murmur. Even in the New Testament from their lips you hear words of mistrust and lack of faith. When God told us that the power of death and life are in our tongue He wasn’t kidding around or being poetically deep. He was giving you the key to living a faith-filled life.
We see Paul here reminding his disciple Timothy to guard what God has given him, which is the truth of salvation. There are times we may come across people who want to debate, question the gospel, or simply engage in foolish conversations that really don’t leave us with much. Instead, choose to have Godly conversations, so that your words may reflect the heart of God through edification, encouragement, and love. Now, once you start to speak the blessings of God in your life and in the lives of others, you will see a major shift in every area of your life!
~ Father God, thank You for speaking miracles and blessings into my life. Today I speak over my family and friends' lives knowing You’ve turned their situation around. Help me to be vigilant in the words I say. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
