Your Banner
"Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch." Numbers 2:2 KJV
In the Old Testament the names of the tribes where their fathers were from meant everything to them. It was by far one of the most important parts of their identities. There were many benefits and honors that came with the territory of being from a specific tribe. Once they put their banners up on their tents, everyone knew where they were from.
This is no different from today. Whether you come from a poor family, a wealthy family, or any other circumstance that tries to ascribe value to you, the one that truly matters is the banner Jesus Christ has freely given you. He has given you a banner of hope that ascribes the highest value to your life! Today, put up your banners. The banner is that you are a Christian—a child of the living God. Put this banner up in your job, at home, for your family, anywhere you may need it and reap the benefits from your tribe. For you walk with the living God. Now that’s a banner!
~ Father God, Thank you for giving me Your last name, a new identity in You. Guide me to be bold and to declare those blessings over my life that come with Your territory, for all things were placed under Your feet. Today I declare restoration and blessings in my family and my community. Help me please You. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
