Our Responsibility
"So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];" Colossians 3:12 AMP
Sociologists agree that humans are socialized into society through the acquisition of habits and learned behavior from their close community. The majority of these learned behaviors don’t really represent God well or even help us overcome much at all. It is why you see divorce is so common, broken families, and confused college kids wondering what to do next. But, there is hope! When God calls you out from among them—the world and its ordinary ways of living and behaving—He equips you to live an extraordinary life with new heavenly behaviors and habits that will set you up for success.
Put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, and gentleness. In this way, you will forbear all things that come your way. For these are the same characteristics that Jesus held on to as He went to the cross. God will get you through this season! Don’t rely on what you would normally do. Instead resort to doing it His way.
So when unpleasantness and when troubles come your way remember these character traits and believe that God abides in you which makes you posses these traits! The season is shifting for your good and miracles will follow you. The blessings of God are lifting you up into your next season.
~ Father God, Thank you for a new season of new beginnings. It is an honor to be loved by You. Help me to demonstrate Your characteristics in love to others, so that they may see You when they see me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
